Hello, lovely neighbours!
We’re still smiling from our first Strawberry Fair! There was Eton Mess (the pudding and the glorious chaos), local crafts, local author, face painting, wood carving, and live music that filled the grounds with joy. A huge thank you to everyone who helped, performed, sold, painted, played, or popped by for a cup of tea and a chinwag.
Right now, the centre’s buzzing most days with yoga, tai chi, pilates, ballet, kids’ dance classes, Zumba, drumming, indoor bowls, council events, police forums, meditation, religious gatherings, political meetups—you name it.
That said, we do have a few regular slots still up for grabs:
- Wednesdays 2:30–3:30 p.m.
- Thursdays 8:00–9:30 a.m.
- Fridays before 9:00 a.m.
- Fridays 4:00–6:30 p.m.
If you’re running a class, hosting a group, or have an idea that needs space to grow, we’d love to hear from you. Hiring costs are:
- £10/hour if you volunteer with us
- £14/hour for regular bookings
- £16/hour for one-off hires
Massive love to our regular hirers and event helpers. Your ongoing support keeps this place alive. Every penny we raise through hires, donations, and event refreshments goes straight back into the building: keeping the heating on, the tea stocked, and the hall in good shape.
The whole thing’s kept running by a small band of volunteer trustees, and we’re always looking for people who want to lend a hand. At the moment, we’re especially after someone with basic computer admin skills—just a couple of hours a week could make a real difference.
There’s plenty more coming up, and we’re keen to co-create more events with local people. If you’ve got an idea, we’re all ears.
